Even before the passage of the Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA) of 1976, solid/special waste generators and stakeholders recognized the need for specialized services for the collection of, and management of, post-consumer wastes and manufacturing process wastes. The last thirty years of RCRA regulations has witnessed the development of more specialized services serving a wide spectrum of customers ranging from individual households to federal facilities and manufacturing firms. The establishment of a Universal Waste category by the United States Environmental Protection Agency was a significant milestone in the recognition of the needed role for such specialized waste services.
The current special and universal waste management situation is evolving at an exponential rate, from niche markets focused exclusively on a single type of waste to broader markets involving multiple wastes streams from the same customer.
Bavarian Waste Services has been a responsible environmental steward providing innovative services for the special waste generator market for many years.
