Bavarian assures special waste generators that they can be certain that all their special waste is handled in a way that meets or exceeds all Federal and State
environmental regulations. Bavarian uses state-of-the-art transportation equipment and evaluates each and every waste stream to protect their customer and assure
proper disposal and tracking of all materials disposed of in our Kentucky landfill.
Special Waste is defined as: any waste material which, because of its physical characteristics, chemical makeup, or biological nature requires either special handling procedures and permitting,or poses an unusual threat to human health, equipment, property, or the environment.Acceptable Waste
- Any Municipal Solid Waste (includes: residential, household or office trash)
- Construction and/or Demolition Debris (includes: wood, stone, brick, metal, plaster, dirt, shingle material, etc.)
- Non Friable Asbestos
- Friable Asbestos - Must be properly bagged/containerized and manifested (Min. 24hr. notice)
- Industrial or Special Waste (includes any high volume, low toxicity wastes that are not generated from municipal solid waste or construction/demolition debris).

-Special waste includes petroleum contaminated soils generated from spills or underground storage tank removal
- -Potential special wastes are evaluated on a case-by-case basis, and are only accepted with appropriate documentation (i.e., analytical results, MSDS, Industrial/Special Waste Application, and generator certification).
Prohibited Wastes
- No Free Liquids
- No Hazardous Wastes (Toxic, Flammable, Reactive, Corrosive, or Explosive;*
- No Polychlorinated Biphenyls (PCBs) contaminated wastes in excess of 49 ppm (mg/kg);
- No Halogenated Organics in excess of 1000 mg/L;
- No Solvents of any kind in excess of 1% (10,000 ppm);
- No Infectious /Medical Wastes.**
** Infectious/Medical wastes are not strictly prohibited from landfill disposal, but it our landfill policy not to accept it due to potential employee exposure upon disposal.
